My Holiday

On Friday 21st April 2017, I was in Glenbrae Skids. We went to Extreme Bowling.

We went with the Glen Taylor and Glen Innes Skids kids. When we reached there, we were splitted into two groups. One group went for bowling and the other one went to the gaming arcade. I was in the game arcade group. The kids were in the gaming arcade group got a special card. So we could play games for free.

After playing in the gaming arcade for one and a half hour, we went to the bowling and the other group came to the arcade.

After finished the bowling session we had some biscuits to eat and waited for the bus to pick us up. After 20 minutes later the bus came and dropped us off back to school.

Hurray! We had a lot of fun.

Te Reo Moari

Our environment is very important. We need to look after our Air, Water and Earth so we don't die.

Our Air is very important for us to breath. But people are polluting the air with big factories, fairs, cars, Cow Farts and fumes. All of these things release greenhouse gases and this causes global warming and then this means that it would be too hard to live on earth because it will be too hot.

We need water to drink. Humans are polluting the water by throwing horrible stuff in the water like waste, oil leaks from boats, and much more but, not only humans pollute the water cows do too by pooping in the river. This waste could cause us to have no more drinking water which we need to survive.

We need to look after our earth. But we are not because we are cutting down trees and littering and also placing down concrete so other plants can't grow. This all leads to humans being extinct because our earth is becoming more polluted and hard to live in.

This is why humans are polluting our environment by polluting the air with factories, water by littering, and earth by chopping down trees.

Drinking water is really important for your health. To keep yourself healthy you need to drink a lot of water this helps because it will keep you fit and strong . If you’re hungry water will make you full and sometimes If you feel hungry but you're actually thirsty drinking water will stop this. You should drink 8 cups a day.
Eating Proper food is very important for your health. You need to eat proper food like fruits and vegetables. Eating fruit vegetables will keep you healthy when you're old and it will also give the vitamins you need. You should also eat 5 plus a day.
Doing proper exercise is very important. You need to do proper exercise so you can make you body fit and healthy. Exercise will help to feel happy because it releases endorphins into your brain. It also helps you stay in shape and it will increases you to be more active.

Science Intensive

Today in Mrs Tofa's class we had science intensive. We learnt about water pollution. I learnt that the most rubbish is in the pacific ocean. This is because lots of our rubbish goes down the drain, which can injure and kill sea life as well as damaging their habitats.

Air Pollution

We went on a field trip around the playground and used a clean paper towel to wipe objects and surfaces. This is what we found dirt and black stuff from cars. Air pollution affects us even though we can't always see it.

Bird Feeders

Today in room 8 we all made bird feeders out of recycled products. This was part of our lesson on Wastewise. We were learning how to reuse reduce and recycle. We are helping the environment instead of harming it by making these bird feeders. When the birds are finished we will put all of the materials in the recycling bins at school.

In class we have been learning about waste wise. I made this poster to show what to put in the right bin. If you put recycling stuff in the rubbish bin it will become rubbish when it gets to the dump. This will remind us not to contaminate our recycling and to put things in the right bins.

My Weekend

On Sunday the 19th my three baby cousins came over. First we played on the Playstation and we all played Minecraft. We built houses and made cool stuff.

After that we watched television. We watched cartoons like Spongebob. We watch a lot of cartoons about Spongebob at home.

Then my mum told us to come outside because she built a fort for us. We played in the fort for a bit, then we played with a skipping rope which was fun.

After all of that, my Aunt, Uncle and Grandma came to pick up my cousin. We had some food and then they went home.

I made videos about my summer activities I interviewed my brother. I learned about the big landscapes in Australia. I also made my own national holiday. I learned three interesting facts about Hillary Clinton. I watched Australian shows. I also learned about Richie Macaw and much more. I learned what Australian people eat for breakfast. summer learning journey was a great holiday activity. I learned lots from this program especially about Australia and this program kept me entertained throughout the holidays. I wish this program carry on for a long time.

Biking Summer Learning Journey Week 4 day 19

Let’s imagine that the neighbouring town was about 30 kilometres away. There are a number of beautiful villages and interesting things to see along the way. You have four options for this trip. You can take a:
  1. Train – 25 minute ride; No stops along the way; $12 for the trip (return)
  2. Bus – 45 minute ride; Two stops along the way to look at interesting villages; $8 for the trip (return)
  3. Scooter – 1 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops; $5 for the trip (return)
  4. Bicycle – 2 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops but there are some hills along the way; $1 (return)
On your blog, tell us which of these four options you would choose and why!

I would choose bicycle, because this is the cheapest option. Also there are unlimited number of stops to have photos of the scenic views. There are some hills along the away, could be good exercise and I feel that bike riding is more fun.

Kakapo Summer learning Journey Week 4 Day 18

I think that the government should do to save the Kakapos, find them a new home. Because there a lot of predators near them like dogs, cats, weasels, possums and rats. Another thing I think we should do is get ride of the predators that harm the kakapos.

Famous Landmarks in Australia Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 17

I would most like to visit in Australia is the Great Barrier Reef because the reef can be seen from  outer space which I think is cool. It is located  off the cost of Queensland, Australia. It was made by living organisms and each year more than 1.5 million visitors come to experience the reef by snorkelling or diving. l also love snorkelling.
Look at these amazing pictures. I love this kind of nature, so this is my place to visit.
